Moir finishes inside Top-15 to lead Transylvania women's golf at Bulldog Invitational in SoCal

Rancho Mirage, Calif. – Senior Meredith Moir turned in a four-over-par 76 in Tuesday's round two of the Bulldog Classic to finish in a tie for 14th place on the 64-player leaderboard in leading the Transylvania women's golf team at the two-round event.

Competing out west at The S at Rancho Mirage, the Pioneers took eighth place on the team leaderboard out of 12 teams at the two-round event hosted by the University of the Redlands.

Moir and fellow senior Jenna Soderling began the event on Monday by recording identical scores of 78. Each player improved upon their score in Tuesday's second round with Moir shaving two strokes off her Monday score and Soderling following up with a five-over-par 77 on Tuesday. Soderling turned in a two-round score of 155, good for an 18th-place tie.

Lexie Lamar shot an 83 in Monday's first round and followed with an 84 on Tuesday to finish with a two-day score of 167 to finish for a share of 38th place. Freshman Kelli Harpe improved upon her Monday score by one stroke to finish with a 177 to finish in 46th.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps took first place with a two-day team score of 600 while host school Redlands took second.

Transylvania next hits the links for competition at their home event, the Transylvania Spring Invitational on Sunday, April 7. The two-round event runs April 7-8 at Greenbrier Golf Course in Lexington.
