Danville, Ky. – The Transylvania track and field team turned in one of its most impressive collective showings of the 2017 season at Friday night's Twilight Meet hosted by Centre College.
The clutch senior trio of men's senior Cole Green, and women's seniors Jordin Fender and Taylor Sanders put their requisite winning performances on display, and were joined by a slew of underclassmen with career performances on Friday night.
Green took victory in the men's 100 meters, crossing the finish line in 10.79 seconds to tie the meet record in the event. Green's Friday time is currently the 20th-best mark in NCAA Division III Track. Green followed his 100-meter masterpiece with a second-place finish in the men's 200 meters, finishing in 21.79 seconds, which slots the senior 15th-best nationally in Division III Track.
Fender captured victory in the women's 100 meters, winning in 12.32 seconds, the 36th-fastest time nationally in Division III Track. Fender also competed in the women's 100 meter hurdles and took fourth in 15.29 seconds, the best time of any Division III athlete at the meet.
Sanders posted a first-place finish in the women's shot put with a throw of 12.40 meters to help the Pioneers women's squad finish in fifth place out of 11 teams. The senior took fourth place in the women's javelin and sixth in the women's discus. Meanwhile, Sanders' teammate, freshman Kailey Price had her best performance of the year in women's discus, placing second with a 36.00 meter launch.

McCullough placed fourth in the triple jump with a 13.16 meter jump, a new PR for the sophomore. The contributions from the two sophomores were instrumental in propelling the Pioneers to an eighth-place finish out of 11 participating teams.
