Transylvania University

Andy Heston is in his second season with Transylvaniabaseball, joining the coaching staff prior to the 2012-13season.

Heston previously served as a regional recruiting specialistfor Northern Kentucky University, where he lettered four-years as apitcher. He was a NCAA Division II National Player of the YearAward finalist following a senior year that saw him post a 9-1record with a 1.72 earned run average. That mark set an NKU schoolrecord for ERA in a season.

Heston's senior class accounted for 158 total wins duringits four-year run.

Heston earned a bachelor's degree in SportsBusiness/Business Administration from NKU with a Summa Cum Laudedistinction. Post-graduation, Heston played with three professionalorganizations -- the Windy City Thunderbolts in Chicago, theSchaumburg Boomers (Chicago) and the Lake Erie Crushers(Cleveland).

In 2012, Heston served as pitching coach for the LexingtonHustlers, a Great Lakes Collegiate Summer League and saw the team'sERA drop nearly a run from the previous season.

Later that year, Heston participated as an academyinstructor for Great Britain's Junior U-16 & U-18 NationalTeams in the Greater London, England area. Additionally, heparticipated a guest instructor at a variety of MLB-sanctionedevents in UK and Spain to promote baseball in Europe.

Heston resturns as a academy instructor for MLB Europedevelopment agencies in the UK in Fall 2013 while working for asecond term with the Great Britain National Teams. 

The Jessamine-County native lives in Wilmore,Ky.
