Transylvania University

Henry Ray will be in his 16th season as an assistantwomen's basketball coach at Transylvania in 2012-13. The formercollegiate and professional player was a four-year letterman atMcNeese (La.) State from 1973-77. He set six school records atMcNeese, including the career scoring mark. After tallying 2,000career points, he was inducted into the McNeese State Hall of Famein 1990.

Ray was also elected to the Louisiana high school "All HalfCentury" team, which recognized the top 10 parrish players of thelast 50 years.

Prior to joining the Pioneers' coaching staff, Ray served as anassistant at two Lexington high schools, Lafayette from 1982-90 andBryan Station from 1990-97. During his first season as a Transyassistant, the Pioneers posted a 23-8 record, the second highestwin total in school history. Transy has averaged nearly 19 wins ayear during Ray's tenure.

Ray has a bachelor's degree in physical education from McNeeseState. He lives in Lexington with his wife, Emily.
