LEXINGTON, Ky.- Anderson's hitting proved too much for Transylvania to handle as the Pioneers fell 9-1 in the first game of Saturday's Heartland Conference double header.
The loss puts the Pioneers back to 9-20 overall and 7-6 in HCAC play. The Ravens move to 16-11, 6-3 in the HCAC.
The Pioneers gave up an early lead when Anderson scored four in the top of the first inning. The ravens scores came from a two run double off the bat of Yardley Collett that sent home Amy Wuestefeld and Lauren Smith and a pair of doubles from Lys Hess and Sami Frazier.
Anderson found their way home again in the second inning scoring three more with another double off the bat of Collett. The Ravens sent home a single run in the third inning after a Wuestefeld double to centerfield. Katy Ogden hit a single run home run in the fifth inning for the final run for the Ravens.
The Pioneers used a bit of small ball to score their run in the third inning when
Cassie Hamilton reached base off an infield single, and eventually would score on a
Kayla Hanson sacrifice.
The Pioneers were out hit by a margin of 13-3.

Katie Hulsman was credited with the loss, moving her to 5-10 on her young career, while Sami Frazier earned her seventh win of the year, making her record 7-1.
GAME TWO
LEXINGTON, Ky.- Transylvania softball dropped the second game of a double header on Saturday against Anderson University by a score of 9-4.
The loss sends the Pioneers back to 9-21 on the season and 7-7 in Heartland Conference play, while the win moves Anderson to 17-11 and 7-3 in the HCAC.
Transy fell behind early when Anderson scored one run in the first inning off a Megan Ream single to left field that sent home Lauren Smith. The Pioneers came back and tied it up in the bottom of the first inning scoring one run when
Elizabeth Young earned an RBI when she scored
Michelle Ladanyi.
The Ravens scored four more runs in the second after Smith tripled to left center earning three RBI's followed by a Yardley Collett double which scored Smith. The double was Collett's third two-base hit of the day. Anderson extended their lead in the third inning to 6-1 when Samantha Steele scored on a Natalie Moorhouse single to right center. Anderson extend their lead in the sixth to 9-1.

Alyssa Oakley to make it 2-9.
The Pioneers comeback effort in the bottom of the seventh fell just short.
Elizabeth Young scored off a bases loaded walk, and a sacrifice hit by
Kayla Hanson sent home
Alyssa Oakley making it 9-4.
In the circle for the Pioneers was freshman
Jamie Lutes, who moves back to 4-9 on the year. Anderson's Devin Moorman was credited with the win and improves her record to 4-6.
Transylvania returns to action this Thursday April 25 when they host Otterbein College at Hall field at 3:30p.m. The Pioneers will wrap up their conference season at home on April 27 when they host Defiance College at 1 p.m. There will also be senior day festivities held prior to that contest.
