CLERMONT, Fla.—Krista DeBurger homered in the second inning to even the score at one apiece, but runs in three straight innings helped Cornell top Transylvania in Thursday's second game.

DeBurger was solid at the plate for the Pioneers going 1-for-3 with one RBI and scored one run.

The top of the first saw Cornell take an early lead, 1-0. Cornell got things going with a double, before a Transylvania led to a Cornell score for a 1-0 lead.

The lone run of the game for the Pioneers crossed the plate in the second inning on a solo home run by DeBurger to even the score at one. Cornell regained the lead for good with one run in the fifth on an RBI single by Weber.

After posting another run in the sixth, Cornell again scored one in the seventh to pick up the 4-1 win.

Thursday's first game was a close one decided in the sixth inning as the Pioneers fell to St. Mary's 3-2 in seven innings.

Elizabeth Young had a hot bat for the Pioneers going 2-for-3, with one RBI and one run scored. She doubled in the fourth inning to score DeBurger and singled in the sixth inning.

St. Mary's jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third, before the Pioneers took a 2-1 lead after the RBI double from Young. St. Mary's plated a lone run in the home half of the fourth to tie and an RBI single from Makenzie Duncan in the sixth lifted St. Mary's to the 3-2 win.

Transylvania returns to action Saturday at 1 p.m. when they take on Heidelberg. The Pioneers will square off against Farleigh Dickinson in Saturday's second game scheduled for 3 p.m.
