ANDERSON, IN - Transylvania University picked up their second consecutive HCAC victory on Saturday, defeating Anderson 3-0.Â
Transy would find their first scoring opportunity early, with
Ellie Held finding the back of the net at 02:56, assisted by
Jaimye Cottongim. Just minutes later,
Isabella White would take advantage of a penalty kick to score for the Pioneers, giving Transy an early 2-0 lead at 08:12. With less than two minutes remaining in the first half,
Maddi Benjamin would score for Transylvania, assisted by both
Lilia Steen and Makenna Johnson, to give Transy a 3-0 lead at 43:00. Transy would take 13 of their 18 shots in the first half. Defensively,
Carrie Stevens shined in Transy's win, securing six saves for the Pioneers.Â
Co-Head Coach Marcus Aldaba was proud of his team's performance on the road.
"Anderson has always been a tough place to play," said Aldaba. "During my time here, this has been one of our best road performances. We showed courage and played with intensity, and we looked like we were enjoying ourselves. When we check those boxes, I really believe we can be a tough team to play anywhere. Lots of credit to our team for this performance, it is one they should be truly proud of."
