WINTER HAVEN, FL - Transylvania defeated Bowdoin College in the final match up of their trip to Winter Haven, Florida. 4-2.

Transylvania gave up one run in the first, a stolen home plate, before firing off three runs in the second inning. Ella Steczynski hit a ground ball through the pitcher to get on base, leading to runs from Emilie Young and Ry'Ann Tharp. Katie Mewes singled on a ground ball to third base, leading to a run from Taylor Ingram. 

In the fourth inning, Mewes would single on a line drive to center field allowing Reagan Rouleau to score the fourth run for the Pioneers. Transylvania would give up a second run in the seventh, but ultimately prevail for a 4-2 victory. 

Young and Mewes each recorded two hits, Mewes also added two RBI's. The Pioneers recorded four stolen bases in the victory. 

Natalie Contreras had another strong performance for the Pioneers, pitching all seven innings and only giving up five hits and two runs. She struck out three batters in the victory. 

Transylvania returns to action on March 14th at the 2025 Pioneer Classic in Elizabethtown, Kentucky against John Carrol and Elmhurst in the opening day of competition.
