LEXINGTON, KY – Kevin Calhoun has been named Associate Director of Athletics, Business Operations and Sports Administration. 

"Since joining us, Kevin has been serving as both our Men's Tennis Coach and an Assistant Director of Athletics," said Jeff Chaney, Vice President of Athletics. "We truly appreciate his work in elevating our Men's Tennis program since he arrived at Transy and we are thrilled to have him continue working full-time as one of our lead administrators, where he will contribute to our entire department and campus."

Calhoun arrived at Transylvania in August 2016 after a six-year stint as the assistant women's tennis coach at the University of Kentucky. Before his time at Kentucky, Calhoun served as the head coach for the men's and women's tennis teams at his alma mater, Georgetown College (Ky.).

Calhoun led the Pioneers Men's Tennis team over the last nine seasons, claiming the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championship in 2022-23 and earning HCAC Coach of the Year honors in 2024-25. In 2025, Calhoun was named as chair of the NCAA Men's Tennis National Committee. 

"College tennis has given me so much. I have seen places and experienced things that I never thought I would. Most importantly, it has given me many relationships that are deeply meaningful to me," said Calhoun. "I'm going to miss the practices, matches, and mentoring opportunities intensely, but I am excited for a new chapter in my career."
