BEREA, KY — Transylvania picked up an important HCAC road victory on Wednesday night, knocking off Berea 73–64 inside the Seabury Center.

The Pioneers opened quickly as Luke Idlett, Hunter Barr, and Drew Marshall powered an early 8–3 lead. A pair of baskets from Cayden Lancaster off the bench halted a Berea push, including a fast-break dunk set up by Marshall to extend the margin to 27–23. Sam Stone and Lancaster added key buckets late in the half, and Marshall's free throws helped the Pioneers take a 34–31 advantage into the break.  

Berea briefly tied the game to start the second half, but Transylvania responded immediately behind Barr and a corner three from Idlett. Reesor finished in transition to spark another run, and Idlett continued his hot shooting with two more threes, pushing the lead back to multiple possessions. Smith and Lancaster scored inside to maintain control, and with 2:27 remaining, Smith buried a clutch three to make it 67–62. From there, the Pioneers closed the game at the free-throw line to secure the win.  

Idlett led the Pioneers with 21 points on 6-for-11 shooting from beyond the arc. Marshall delivered 15 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists, while Barr posted 14 points, nine boards, and three blocks. Smith added 10 points and six rebounds, and Lancaster supplied eight points off the bench.  

Transylvania improves to 11–8 overall and 8–4 in HCAC play and will travel to Rose-Hulman this Saturday. Tip-off is set for 3 PM.
