    LEXINGTON, Ky. - Transylvania and Rose-Hulman combined for four goals  in the first half Saturday, but that was it for the scoring as the two  teams battled to a 2-2 double-overtime tie in Heartland Conference men's  soccer action at Thomas Field.
In a matchup of the two HCAC preseason favorites, Transy moved  to 8-2-2 overall, 2-0-1 HCAC. The Engineers are 5-5-3, 2-0-1 HCAC. The  teams came into the contest tied for the early league lead.
Winners of four straight matches, Transy fell behind 1-0 in the 10th  minute. The Pioneers tied the score on a Brian Williams (Lexington, Ky.) goal from 25  yards out in the11th minute.
Rose-Hulman regained the lead in the 23rd minute on a free kick only  to see Transy's Peter Mikhail (Park Hills, Ky.) make it 2-2 on a score off a penalty kick  at the 41:55 mark. It was Mikhail's third goal of the year.
Rose-Hulman had an 8-4 margin in shots and the Engineers had the only  two shots in the two overtime periods. The visitors also had an 11-6  edge in corner opportunities.
The Pioneers are back in action on Wednesday, when they travel to Earlham for an HCAC matchup.
