    LEXINGTON, Ky. - Transylvania blanked Anderson 2-0 Saturday in the  championship game of the Heartland Conference Men's Soccer Tournament at  Thomas Field, grabbing its second straight NCAA Championship berth.
No. 1 seed Transy is now 16-2-2 overall after its eighth straight win  while Anderson, the No. 2 seed, is 9-6-6. The Pioneers clinched the top  seed in the conference tourney with a 1-0 overtime win over the Ravens  on Oct. 30.
With  the HCAC tourney win, Transy secured the league's automatic bid to the  NCAA Division III Championships, which begin Nov. 10. The Pioneers made  the NCAA field last year, advancing to the Elite Eight. It will be their  sixth visit to the NCAA tourney overall.
Ranked eighth in the Great Lakes Region, the Pioneers are unbeaten in  their last 11 contests. Senior Brian Williams (Lexington, Ky.) beat the Anderson keeper  one on one from the left side for a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute,  breaking a scoreless tie. Christian King (Nicholasville, Ky.) took a cross from Tyler Crombie (Frankfort, Ky.) in the 65th minute to cap the scoring.
It was Williams' 11th goal of the season. He was named the HCAC Tourney MVP. King got his fifth score of the year.
In a tough defensive battle, Transy held Anderson to two shots, both  in the second half, while getting eight shots. Transy had a 5-2 edge in  corners and Alex Schmitt (Ft. Mitchell, Ky.) was credited with one save in goal.
