LEXINGTON, Ky. - Transylvania struck for three first-half goals Saturday, making Senior Day a rousing success as the Pioneers took a 3-0 decision over Franklin in Heartland Conference men's soccer action at Thomas Field.
Transy (9-4-3, 6-0-1) continues to lead the HCAC race with two games left to play. Franklin falls to 7-9-1, 2-5 HCAC.

Stu Hampson at halftime of the contest. That group has helped lead Transy to one HCAC regular season titles, who HCAC tournament championships and a pair of NCAA Division III Championship berths.
Transy has won 52 matches against 16 losses and eight ties in the last four seasons, including a 27-3-2 conference mark. The Pioneers haven't lost an HCAC regular season match since Sept. 19, 2009, a span of 28 games including post-season play.
Christian King scored all three goals for the Pioneers. His first came in the 36th minute and provided an early lead.
Tyler Crombie got the assist on a cross. He scored twice more in the final three minutes of the first half, running his season total to six.
Robbie Gorham got the assist on the final score.
Transy had 24 shots, 10 on goal, to five and two for the visitors.
Taylor Nossokoff started in goal and
Alex Schmitt finished up, getting two saves.
Transy is back in HCAC action on Wednesday, hosting Mt. St. Joseph at 4 p.m. The Pioneers wrap up regular season play on Saturday at Anderson.
