Box Score Lexington, Ky. – Mitchell Crispin turned in a five-point performance to lead the Transylvania men's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over the Earlham College Quakers at Pat Deacon Stadium on Wednesday night.
The win propels Transylvania to 2-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play and 5-5 overall while the Quakers' record falls to 1-8-2 and 0-2 in conference play.
The Pioneers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute when Zach Hill sent a pass up from the backfield that found the waiting foot of Crispin, who blasted a shot past the Earlham keeper.
Following an own goal by the Quakers in the 11th minute, Transylvania extended the lead to 3-0 on Crispin's second goal of the evening.
Transylvania capped off the night with a goal in the 67th minute via a strike from Devin Craig that pushed the final score to 4-0 in favor of the Pioneers. Crispin assisted on the goal to tally his fifth point of the game.
The Pioneers dominated Earlham throughout the night, outshooting the Quakers 22-3. Transylvania has now outscored HCAC opponents 8-0 on the year.
Up next for Transylvania is a matchup against the Manchester University Spartans on Saturday, October 12. First touch between the Pioneers and the Spartans is set for 3:30 p.m. at Pat Deacon Stadium.
