FAN INFORMATION FOR GAMES AT MOREHEAD STATE (Dec. 9 and Dec. 10)
Lexington, Ky. – The Transylvania men's basketball team will tip off the 2020-21 season with a trio of games against Division I in-state competition this week, beginning with a back-to-back road series at Morehead State University on Wednesday, December 9, and Thursday, December 10.
The Pioneers will visit the Eagles (1-4 overall, 0-1 OVC) on consecutive evenings in Morehead, Kentucky at Johnson Arena with a pair of 6 p.m. tip times.
Transylvania wraps up the week at Eastern Kentucky University (4-1 overall, 1-0 OVC) in Richmond, Kentucky at McBrayer Arena on Saturday, December 12 for a 4 p.m. start.
Transy's games against its nearby Ohio Valley Conference neighbors also mark the first games of the season for the Pioneers, who are coming off a trip to the Division III NCAA Tournament last March.
Limited tickets are available for Wednesday and Thursday's games at Morehead State University via the Morehead State ticketing website. Ticket pickup will be at Morehead's Will Call window just outside of the front/south entrance of the facility (facing the main road). Valid photo ID is required, and attending fans will be required to have their temperature scanned upon entry. Masks or facial coverings are required for entry and are required to be worn at all times during the event. Seating for Transylvania fans is in Section J of Johnson Arena.
Limited tickets are available for Saturday's game at Eastern Kentucky at the Colonels ticketing website online; facemasks are required to be worn at all times when inside McBrayer Arena and fans and staff will be temperature screened upon entry into the arena. Additional guidelines for home basketball games at Eastern Kentucky University are specified at EKUSports.com.
For additional ticket information and questions, call the EKUSports Ticket Office at 859-622-2122.
For the third straight season, the Pioneers are commencing their season against a Division I foe, following a matchup in 2018 against crosstown rival University of Kentucky and last season's opener at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights.
Unlike the past two season openers, this week's Division I slate will all serve as regular season matchups for the Pioneers rather than preseason games. Wednesday's game will mark the first regular-season meeting between Transy and Morehead State since December 17, 1956, when the Eagles won 95-47.
Saturday's game in Richmond will certify the first regular season matchup between Transylvania and Eastern Kentucky since December 15, 2001, a 77-51 victory for the Colonels.
The games at Morehead State (1-4 overall) also mark a homecoming for Transylvania men's basketball head coach Brian Lane, who enters his 20th season at the helm for the Pioneers; Morehead State represented Lane's most recent stop prior to returning to his alma mater, where he was an assistant coach for two seasons from 1999 to 2001.
Wednesday and Thursday's games at Morehead State will be broadcast online via ESPN+.
