Richmond, Ind. – The Transylvania men's soccer team picked up its fifth shutout of the season by way of a 3-0 victory over the Earlham College Quakers at Darrell Beane Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the Pioneers' record moves to 6-1 with just two games remaining on the regular-season slate, while the Quakers fall to 2-5 on the year.
The Pioneers' offense got to work in the 29
th minute as
Max Nusbacher put Transylvania on top 1-0 with a goal set up by
Mitchell Crispin.
Early in the second half, Crispin tallied his second assist of the night when he set up a
Tyler Dobbs scoring strike that put the Pioneers ahead 2-0.
In addition to anchoring the Transylvania defensive line that held the Quakers without a shot attempt,
Zach Hill also scored his second goal of the season off a
Spencer Waldrop corner kick to secure the 3-0 victory for Transylvania.
The Pioneers will be back in action on Saturday, March 27, for a game against the Defiance College Yellow Jackets. The match is set for a 3:30 p.m. start at Pat Deacon Stadium.
