Lexington, Ky. - Transylvania continues to roll as they beat Manchester University, 90-44 at the Clive M. Beck Center, to head into the HCAC semi-finals on Friday.  

The Pioneers quickly took control as they led 33-7 after the first quarter, out-scoring Manchester 16-4 on points in the paint. In the second quarter the Pios defense is what kept them in the driver's seat, scoring 14 points off of turnovers and going into the half with a 53-13 lead. Transylvania's shooting cooled off in the third quarter, but propelled back in the fourth quarter by shooting 62.5% and getting 25 points from their bench.

Samantha Cornelison, first year student-athlete from Richmond, Ky., led the Pioneers with her season high 24 points. She was blazing from the 3 point line going 6 out of 8. Adding to her record day, she had 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Other pioneers in the scoring column included Madison Kellione (16 points), Kennedi Stacy (12 points), and Laken Ball (10 points).

The win continues the undefeated season for the Pioneers who will now be hosting the HCAC final four beginning on Friday.  Transylvania will match up against #4 seeded Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The last meeting between the two was on January 22 where it went down to the wire as Transy pulled out the win on the road by 4 points.  For more information on Friday's game and the HCAC championship, go to the Championship Webpage.
