Box Score

Our Pioneers are on the road this week as they travel to Kenosha, Wi as Transy will play the first of a back to back against Carroll University. The Pioneers have positive momentum after a strong performance against top ranked Denison and look to capitalize on Carroll before facing Carthage College tomorrow.

Starting the game, Jackson Wilson continued his starting goalie role with tonight making his second of the season. Speed combined with relentless offensive pressure seemed to be the plan for the Pioneers as they jumped on Carroll early and didn't look back. First Year Casey Fagan got the Pioneers going as he scored the first goal of the game coming from Will Warner. Both weren't done as Warner got the second goal for the Pioneers before the end of the quarter, assisted by Luke Stetter.

The following quarter and on Transy would go on to dismantle Carroll scoring 5 goals to Carroll's 1 goal. Goals from Ryan Geisler, Tai Stormont, Dylan Mordhorst, and Dalton Hubbs separated the Pioneers from Carroll before Casey Fagan netted his second goal of the night. The Pioneers ended the half ahead 7-2.

The second half was dominated by Transylvania in all ways. Transy held Carroll scoreless the entire half as the offense continued to pummel the defense. The Pioneers would go on to score 8 goals in just the 3rd quarter. Hubbs would score the first and last goal of the quarter giving him yet another hat trick, continuing his streak of not just scoring in the game but his 4th straight with 3 or more. Stormont, Warner, Geisler, and Mordhorst would all go on to score a second goal in this quarter capped by Fagan's additional 2 earning him his 3rd goal of the game, Fagan ended with 4.

Defensively the Pioneer played well with Senior Defender Evan Deskins collecting 4 caused turnovers along with his 4 ground balls. The Super senior duo counterpart AJ Teague had himself an impactful night with 3 caused turnovers and 6 ground balls to go along with his assist in the 3rd. Faceoffs were net positive as well for Transy with Strode going 5-7 and Rowland going an impressive 10-12. This was a complete game for the Pioneers as Fagan, Alex Madson, and Jack Babb topped off the game with goals ending it 18-4. This was Alex Madson's first career goal since his arrival from the Men's Basketball team along with Jack Babb ending the scoring for the Pioneers.
After the game Head Coach Logan Otto had this to say: "We are excited to see CCIW play start with a win. We know this is a big weekend for us and we always love to compete with great teams. We saw a lot of players turn the corner highlighted by Casey Fagan's five goals."

The Pioneers will hope to keep the momentum as they play Carthage tomorrow, April 8th at 1:00PM. With this quick turnaround make sure to tune in and support Transy as this game, unlike this one, will be streamed!
