LEXINGTON - #15 Transy Volleyball swept HCAC opponent Rose Hulman 25-11, 25-16, 25-11 to improve to 12-5 on the season and open up HCAC play 1-0.
The Pioneers hit .400 on the day. They held Rose Hulman to -.043. Rose Hulman had just 18 kills to Transy's 42.
Kayden Holcomb led the Pioneers in kills with 11.
Transy jumped out to a 13-5 lead in the first set and kept it on the Fightin' Engineers. After being up by 10 points Transy continued a 5-0 run to win the set by 14 points.
Set two was in the Pioneers favor. Rose Hulman struggled to stop the Pioneer attack. After a 5-5 tie,
Megan Sweeney put TU up and they held the lead the rest of the set.
Like the previous two, Transy dominated the third set. A 9-3 start put Rose Hulman away early and the Pioneers would earn their 4th straight win in a row.
It's the fifth year in a row that Transy has began HCAC play with a win and the second season in a row that Transy opened up HCAC competition with a sweep.Â
Suzanne Klosterman had 9 kills in the match.
Kennedy Beatty led the team in aces with 2.
Grace Ward finished with 33 assists and
Ava Beltsos finished with 12 digs.
Transy (12-5, 1-0 HCAC) is back at the Clive M. Beck Center on Wednesday, October 4th at 7 PM vs Asbury University.
