HEATING UP AT THE TOP
Transylvania currently sits tied for first place in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference with Anderson at 15-4, 10-2. The Pioneers are winners of their last four and face Hanover, who the Pioneers beat in double OT earlier this month and Anderson, a team that beat Transy earlier this season and is on a 5 game win streak.

DON LANE CLASSIC CHAMPS
Transylvania defeated DePauw 88-79 and Baldwin Wallace 87-74 to win the Don Lane Classic. Jaylan Green tied a season high 27 points in the win over DePauw as he led Transy to their third straight win over the Tigers to advance to the Don Lane Classic Championship. Green then broke his previous season high of 27 points and scored 30 in the championship win over Badlwin Wallace. The Pioneers outscored the Yellow Jackets 51-22 in the second half after being down 36-42. 

Colby Napier was named to the All-Tournament Team. Jaylan Green was named tournament MVP. For his performances, Green was named HCAC Player of the Week. 

LAST TIME OUT
Transylvania defeated Rose-Hulman 76-70 to split the season series with the Fightin' Engineers. Daniel Mullins had a career afternoon, scoring 26 points and leading the second half comeback with 24 second half points. Mullins finished the game 7-11 from the floor and scored 13 straight points late in the half, as well as 22 of Transy's 26 points.

LOOKING AT THE PANTHERS
Hanover sits in 4th place in the HCAC standings at 12-7, 8-4 after losing to Bluffton 70-77 over the weekend. The Panthers have won their last two games at the Clive M. Beck Center.

Anderson is tied for first place with Transylvania at 15-4, 10-2 and are winners of their last five games. The Ravens defeated Transy earlier this month 89-102. The Ravens are 10-11 all time at home against the Pioneers.

THE LANE WAY
Head Coach Brian Lane '90 enters his 23rd season. Lane first started with the Pioneers in the 1990 season when he was an assistant under his father, the legendary Don Lane. He then coached as an assistant for UNC-Charlotte, South Carolina, North Carolina State, Florida Atlantic, and Morehead State before being named Head Coach of Transylvania in 2001.

Since 2001, Lane has led the Pioneers to six NCAA Tournament appearances in 2006, 2007, 2009, 2012, 2013, and 2020. He was named a Glenn Robinson National Coach of the Year Finalist in 2011-2012 and has earned Regional Coach of the Year honors in 2005-2006. 

Lane has been named HCAC Coach of the Year on four separate occasions, earning the honors in 2005, 2006, 2009, and 2012. He has 353 wins as head coach, earning his 350th last season versus Mount St. Joseph (FULL RECAP) and his 361 wins are second most all time, trailing his legendary father Don Lane who has 509 career wins. 
During his playing career at Transylvania (1986-1990), Lane scored 1,286 points which ranks 30th all time in program history.

THE DANIEL MULLINS SHOW
Sophomore guard Daniel Mullins led the Pioneers to the comeback win over Rose-Hulman this past Saturday. Mullins's 24 second half points was the spark the Pioneers needed as the sophomore scored 13 straight Pioneer points to cut  10 points deficit down to 2 and shift the momentum to Transy. Mullins would add another 7 straight later in the game to secure the crucail conference win over RHIT.


 TRANSY STATS N' STREAKS

• Transylvania has reached the HCAC postseason tournament in nine straight seasons, last winning the tournament during the 2019-20 season.
• The Pioneers have not recorded a losing season since the 2015-2016 season (the 2020-21 season was shortened due to Covid)
• Transy ranked third in the HCAC last season in scoring, averaging 75.6 points per game. 
• Transy ranks first in the HCAC in combined rebounding and offensive rebounds.
• Jaylan Green has reached double figures in every game this season.
• Hunter Penn earned a double-double in his first game back from injury just over a week ago
• Transy is 16-32 all time against Hanover - history
