DELAWARE, Ohio - The Transylvania Women's Lacrosse team faced Ohio Wesleyan for their fourth away game of the season. The Pioneers started the game in a dominating fashion, outscoring the Battling Bishops six to three in the first quarter. The rest of the game was a tough battle, ultimately ending in an 18-12 loss. This was the fifth all-time matchup between the two programs. As a team, Transylvania scored on all but two of their shots on goal and went three of four on free-position shots.

Freshman Sofie Garrett led the offense for the Pioneers, scoring four goals. Fifth-year senior Sophia Sparks had another all-around game, scoring two goals while earning a season-high of three assists. Junior Diana Bruder also earned a season-high two assists, in addition to scoring two goals of her own and leading the team in draw controls with seven. Remaining perfect on free-position shots, Junior Lula Thompson added two goals of her own and won three draw controls. Senior Linley Dawson scored on every one of her shots on goal, totaling two goals on the day. Junior Charlotte Green also earned a season-high in assists, totaling three. Green also collected two ground balls and won two draw controls. Sophomore goalkeeper Jana Carlisle earned a season-high in both saves and ground balls, totaling 15 saves on the day while collecting four ground balls. 

Head Coach Rachael Bragg said this after the game, "We put in a lot of hard work today mentally and physically. We are still moving forward in both areas as a team and will continue to grow". 

The Pioneers will continue their away stretch and open conference play with a mid-week game vs. Spalding on April 3rd at 7 pm.
