Men's Lacrosse dominates Hanover College in first HCLC game of the season

LEXINGTON- The Transylvania Men's Lacrosse team was at home on a muggy night at Pat Deacon Stadium for their first Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference meeting of the season. The Pioneers defeated Hanover College in their HCLC debut from start to finish, winning 20-3. 

 "Super proud of the patience of our offensive guys and locked in focus with the defensive group." Head Coach Logan Otto said after the win.


The Pioneers won due to a full team effort as 14 different Pioneers would score in this matchup. Luke Stetter led the way for the Pioneers adding another hat trick to the season, making it back to back games with 3 goals for the Sophomore. The Pioneers would put up 3 in the first quarter and 4 in the second to go into halftime up 6. 

The Pioneers would dominate the faceoff as Briggs Beck would go a perfect 10-10 as the Pioneers would win 25 total. Defensively the Pioneers stood strong letting in a season low 3 goals as Ben Pund would save 5. Dom Tsourkas would have a great defensive day having 2 caused turnovers and 3 ground balls marking a new career high in caused turnovers.
Head coach Logan Otto added: "Conference play is always an important part of the plan for our season and our guys stepped up for tonight's game across the board."

Up next: The Pioneers look to add another win going into spring break where they will play at home against Rhodes College March 11th at 3PM.
