Men's lacrosse continue win streak, defeat Earlham 21-2

RICHMOND, IN- The Transylvania Men's Lacrosse team continued their road trip to finish out the season, today taking them to Richmond Indiana to play Earlham College. The Pioneers would win this game 21-2 despite the highly touted goalkeeper from Earlham, now stretching the program record between the two 5-0 in favor of the Pioneers.

Kade Kruger would be the leading scorer for the Pioneers as the Freshman would have 7 goals in today's contest. This is the most any Pioneers has scored in a single game this season and is now sitting alone as the team's leading scorer, now with 23 goals on the season. The Pioneers had to take a different approach to this game as Earlham would play a zone today. Head coach Logan Otto had this to say: "Earlham played us tough from start to finish. We had to score goals against an aggressive zone defense with an outstanding goaltender."

Alex Madson would have a complete game, filling out the stat sheet with 4 goals, 1 assist, 2 caused turnovers, and a game high 9 ground balls, matching his season high as he had 9 against Kalamazoo. Madson would be a huge part of the ground ball discrepancy as Transy would have 45 to Earlhams 9. Samuel Archer would have a hat trick on the day, earning his second of the season, finishing this game earning his 9th career goal.

Ben Marcum would have 2 caused turnovers today, as he led the defense to a textbook game, clearing the ball effectively going 16-18. The Pioneers would have their 3rd game in a row playing multiple goalies as Pund, Wilson, and Kroll would all see time. Face off has continued to flourish as the Pioneers would dominate that 23-3.

After the game head coach Logan Otto would share: "Our young guys are continuing to show maturity and poise in these situations. I am pleased with our face off group and a career game from Kade Kruger. Our ball movement against the zone is continuing to improve which helps us in the long run."

The Pioneers will try to continue this 3 game win streak as they travel to Anderson Indiana as they will face off with the Anderson College Ravens. This game is Saturday April 20th at 3PM.
