CARMEL, Ind. - The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced their 2024 Softball Special Awards and All-Conference players. Transylvania took 2 of the 3 player Special Awards while putting 8 on the All-Conference teams.
2024 HCAC Pitcher of the Year
Transylvania Senior pitcher Carlee Jeter was named the 2024 HCAC Pitcher of the Year after dominating in conference play. She finished 9-0 in the circle in the HCAC, and 17-3 overall this season. Her 17 wins tied a career high.
Jeter threw the program's first perfect game in decades, and hasn't lost a game pitching since March 19th. Since then, she has gone 13-0 with a save. She's tied for the HCAC lead in wins, is second in the league in E.R.A at 1.76, fifth in innings pitched, and second in opponent batting average with at .219. Jeter has thrown 11 complete games this season for the Pioneers.
HCAC Newcomer of the Year
Dakota Burke has been named the 2024 HCAC Newcomer of the Year. The freshman put together an impressive 2024 season, in which she started in 41 of 42 games and led the team in hits with 53 while posting a .398 average while leading the team in stolen bases. In conference play, Burke started all 18 games and hit .397 with 23 hits, 6 extra base hits, and 10 RBI's.
Following the conclusion of the HCAC Softball tournament, Burke was named to the All-Tournament Team. She finished the tournament 5-11 with 5 RBI's in 3 games while helping her team to their first ever back-to-back HCAC tournament championships.
Transylvania added 8 players to the 2024 HCAC Softball All-Conference team. Carlee Jeter, Sophie Moshos, Carson Murray, Izzy Story, Reagan Rouleau, and Stella Wulker were named First Team All-HCAC while Ella Steczynski and Avery Parsons were named Second Team All-HCAC.
