Lexington, Ky. - Trent Youngblood has made history as the first baseball player from Transylvania University to be drafted into the professional ranks as he is taken today in the 10
th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks. His selection marks a significant milestone for both Youngblood and the university, highlighting the exceptional talent and hard work he has demonstrated throughout his college career.
Youngblood's achievements are extensive. He was named the 2024 HCAC Player of the Year, leading the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in several key statistical categories, including batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, runs, and stolen bases?. Additionally, he was recognized as the D3Baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Region 8 Player of the Year, an honor reflecting his impact on the field and his leadership for the Pioneers.
