ANDERSON, IN - Transylvania University earned their first Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) victory of the season on Tuesday, defeating Anderson 14-3 on the road. 

Transylvania had a strong offensive first half. The Pioneers scored five goals in the first quarter and seven in the second. They took a 12-1 lead into the halftime break. 

The Pioneers were led by senior TaNya Barbee's five points from three goals and two assists. Sofie Garrett recorded four goals for the Pioneers while Avery Kirkhope added three. Charlotte Green added two goals while Lula Thompson and Lily Craft also scored for Transylvania. 

Grace Smilek Edwards had another strong performance in the goal, recording four saves in a full sixty minute performance as the Pioneer defense held Anderson to three goals. 

Transylvania returns to action on Saturday, April 5th, as the Pioneers travel to take on Sewanee at 1:00 p.m.
