DANVILLE, KY - This Friday, the Pioneers closed out the winter semester and their regular outdoor season
in Danville, KY at the Centre Twilight meet. They took advantage of this last chance to put down
some good times before the HCAC Championships and had some good performances and new
school records. Some of these highlights include:
Kaycee Moore had a great race, improving her own school record over 1500m, running a
time of 4:56.23 and finishing second.
Olivia Sparks also improved her own school record and placed first in the 400m with a
time of 57.86. Sparks also set a PB in the 100m, running 12.46 and finishing second.
Hayden Scott had a PB of over 4m in discus, throwing 36.59m.
Eve Brunell won her heat in the 1500m and had a big PB of over 20s, running a time of
5:21.30.
When asked how he feels about where the team is at before conference next weekend, Coach
Matt Andrews said, "I think our group is moving in the right direction as we head to HCACs. I
wouldn't say we've had our best season in terms of overall results to this point but we are
definitely getting into our best at the right time. We've faced some challenges and adversity at
points this season which I think has made our squad better prepared to get the most out of
themselves as they handle the ups and downs a conference championship meet always brings."
Remember to check in on the Pioneers next Friday and Saturday, the 25th-26th, as they travel to
Berea College to compete for the title of HCAC Champions.
