LEXINGTON, KY. — A fourth-quarter surge wasn't enough for the Transylvania men's lacrosse team, as the Pioneers dropped a hard-fought 15-12 decision to Colorado College on Sunday afternoon at Pat Deacon Stadium.

Jack Miller and Huck Campbell led the charge for Transylvania, combining for seven of the team's 12 goals. Campbell finished with a team-high six points on three goals and three assists, while Miller found the back of the net four times, including two goals in the final minutes. After trailing 13-6 late in the third quarter, Transylvania mounted a spirited comeback with six goals in the final 19 minutes. Andrew Welch, Samuel Archer, and Luke Larish each added a goal, with Archer's coming during a three-goal flurry early in the fourth quarter that cut the Tigers' lead to 15-11.

The Pioneers out shot Colorado College 40-33 and held a 16-15 edge in ground balls. They also matched the Tigers at the face-off X, splitting the draws 14-14. Defensively, goalie Nick DeGrandi posted six saves in a full 60-minute effort, while Ben Marcum, RJ Young, and Dom Tsourkas each caused turnovers that helped spark the second-half rally. Despite the loss, Transylvania showed grit in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Tigers 4-1 and holding them to just two shots on goal in the final frame.

Transylvania returns to action next week as they look to bounce back against in-state opponent Spalding University. The game is set for April 9th at 7 PM at Pat Deacon Stadium.
