LEXINGTON, KY - Transylvania returned to the win column on Saturday, earning a hard fought victory over Capital at Pat Deacon Stadium, 3-1.

Despite Capital's first goal of the afternoon giving Transylvania a one goal deficit in the first half, the second half would bring a heavy dose of Transylvania offense. Just over a minute into the second half, Kaelen Bauersfield connected on a goal to tie the score, courtesy of a Dylan Barnes assist. Carrying a tie for the majority of the second half, it would be the final 15 minutes of the match that would prove to be the difference. At the 76:44 mark, Josh Carr scored on a goal to give the Pioneers the lead, he was assisted by Gus Dickman. Just a few minutes later, McKay Wheatley, assisted by JT Roden, connected on another goal that gave the Pioneers a 3-1 advantage and ultimately the victory.

Transylvania took 13 shots on the afternoon, compared to three from Capital. Gus Dickman led the Pioneers with four shots, while Leo Bill, Dylan Barnes and Nathan White each recorded two shots. Jackson Holt recorded a save in the goal to maintain the Transylvania advantage.

Transylvania returns to action on Saturday, September 20th, hosting Baldwin Wallace at Pat Deacon Stadium at 1:00 p.m.
