LEXINGTON, KY — Transylvania moved to 4–0 on the season with a 4–3 win over Webster on Friday afternoon at Legends Stadium.
The Pioneers struck early, starting in the second inning when Ethan Dillon tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly from Chris Hedinger. Baxter Tedesco later walked and scored on an RBI single from Max Finn. In the third, Nick Pietromonaco singled, stole second, and scored on Dillon's RBI double, with Hedinger adding another RBI single to make it 4–0.
Webster scored three in the seventh, but Transylvania held strong on the mound. Drew Bowles earned the win with seven innings of work, striking out six with no walks. Henry Craig covered the final two frames, striking out four without allowing a hit for his second save.
Dillon finished with a triple, double, RBI, and stolen base. Pietromonaco went 2-for-5 with two steals, while Hedinger drove in two runs. Finn, Brenton Alcorn, Calvin Schubert, Baxter Tedesco, Joe Murphy, Camden McAtee, Houston Manning, and Vinny DeSalvo all added hits.
Transylvania recorded five stolen bases, including two from Pietromonaco.
Post Game Head Coach Zack Getsee stated, "I am really happy with how we played. Bowles and Craig were great on the mound, and our offense was timely again. We are proud of our effort this afternoon."
