LEXINGTON, Ky. — Transylvania responded in dominant fashion on Saturday morning, defeating MSOE 12–2 in seven innings at Legends Field. 

The Pioneers jumped out early with two runs in the first and added another in the second to take a 3–1 lead. After MSOE plated single runs in the second and fifth to pull within one, Transylvania broke the game open with three runs in the fifth and a six-run sixth inning to seal the run-rule victory. The Pioneers finished with 12 runs on 15 hits.

Ethan Dillon paced the offense, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a stolen base. Baxter Tedesco also collected three hits and drove in two runs, while Calvin Schubert added three hits at the top of the lineup. Seita Shiratori scored three runs and recorded two hits and an RBI, and Nick Pietromonaco scored three times while adding an RBI.

Brenton Alcorn contributed a two-RBI single, and Max Finn doubled and scored twice as the Pioneers consistently pressured the MSOE defense, which committed five errors in the contest. 

On the mound, Giancarlo Gonzalez earned the win, tossing five innings and allowing two runs while striking out four. Henry Craig closed the door with two scoreless innings of relief, striking out three to secure the victory.
