DELAWARE, OHIO – Transylvania University opened the 2026 season with a 2-1 road victory over Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday evening at the Jay Martin Soccer Complex.
Eva Blanke opened the scoring in the 13th minute off assists from Maggie Johnson and Teagan Fahy. Emersyn Cox added another goal in the 38th minute to send the Pioneers into halftime with a 2-0 advantage.
Ohio Wesleyan cut the lead to 2-1 in the 84th minute, but Transylvania held on for the season-opening victory. Carrie Stevens recorded three saves in goal for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers improve to 1-0 on the season. Transylvania returns to action on Friday, September 4th in their home opener for the 2026 campaign, hosting Emory at Pat Deacon Stadium.
