Crispin powers Transylvania men's soccer to big win over Mount St. Joseph

Cincinnati, Ohio – Mitchell Crispin scored his first career hat-trick to lead the Transylvania men's soccer team to an impressive 6-0 victory over the Mount St. Joseph University Lions at Schueler Field on Wednesday night.

With the win, the Pioneers improve to 4-1 on the season, while the Lions' record falls to 2-2-1.

After scoring his first goal of the night early in the game, Crispin sent a pass forward that Max Nusbacher converted into a goal, giving the Pioneers a 2-0 lead at the halftime break.

The Transylvania offense took off early in the second half as Crispin and Devin Craig combined to score three goals in less than five minutes to push the lead out to 5-0 over the Lions.

With the result well in hand, Landon Bowman stepped to the penalty mark following a Mount St. Joseph foul in the box.  The senior drilled a shot into the bottom right corner of the net for his first career goal, securing the 6-0 win for Transylvania.

Gino Arena picked up the victor in goal for Transylvania. The sophomore tallied two saves en route to his fourth shutout-victory of the season.

Up next for Transylvania is a trip to Bluffton, Ohio, for a matchup against the Bluffton University Beavers. First touch between the Pioneers and Beavers is set for 3:30 p.m. at Alumni Field.
