LEXINGTON - Transy Men's Soccer moved to 3-6-4 on the season and 2-3-1 in HCAC competition with a 0-0 tie vs Rose Hulman on Saturday afternoon. Neither team could get the upper hand as both teams had chances but couldn't capitalize.
The tie is the first tie for the Transy-Rose Hulman series since 2018. The Fightin' Engineers have won six straight matches leading into Saturday. RHIT came into Saturday in second place in the HCAC standings.
Nolan "Rex" Yantz led Transy to their third straight shutout, and sixth of the season. Yantz stopped 3 shots, his biggest being his first save, making a save with his fingertips, causing the ball to hit the crossbar and go out of play.
Spencer Waldrop and
Jacob Renneker earned the only shots on goal for Transy. The Pioneers had a chance in the first half to break the tie, but a missed shot from five yards out kept the tie intact.
Transy has three more games left as they make the push for the post season, two being on the road at Earlham and Defiance and the final game of the season being against Franklin at home. The Pioneers sit one point ahead of the Defiance Yellow Jackets for the final tournament spot in the HCACÂ standings.
Transy will head to Earlham this upcoming Wednesday at 3:30 PM.
