The First Half
In the first half Transylvania started hot, scoring the first goal of the game in the 9th minute due to a converted penalty kick. Henry Roetker scored the lone goal of the game for Transy off a penalty kick, continuing his perfect streak of penalty kick goals. Denison is another tough opponent for Transy, making a living off of opposing team mistakes. This half would go on to be quiet offensively, as Trent Fry continued his time in goal into this game playing the entirety of it again. Fry would face thirteen shots this half saving four while only allowing one to score this half, ending the 1st half 1-1.
The Second Half
In the second half Transylvania couldn't get the momentum needed to turn the page on the last half, unable to stop the Denison attack. Transy faced eight shots in the half, causing the pace of the game to fall into the hands of Denison as they took their time to run through their sets, netting 2 more goals on before expiration. Transy went on to lose the game 1-3 and now sit at 0-2 on the season.
After the game, head coach Federici would go on to say this: "We saw another tough opponent today who took advantage when we made mistakes. It's a hard lesson to learn, but I'm confident this team will turn it around".
Up next for Transylvania is their first home game of the season as the Pioneers defend Pat Deacon Stadium when they take on Maryville College on September 7th at 6:30PM.
