TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Transylvania Men's Basketball team lost their second conference game of the season, dropping a Saturday matchup to Rose-Hulman 83-92.
Matthew Teague had a career high 19 points in the win, shooting 7-10 from the floor.
Transy went up early 10-3, but Rose Hulman would use a 16-2 run to take the lead at 19-12, and holdon to the lead the rest of the way. Transy cut the first half deficit down to two points, but Rose Hulman made it 33-21 with just 6:30 left to play on the half. The Pioneers ended the half on an 18-13 run to pull within 7 points at the half.
Transy clawed their way back and tied the game at 53-53 after Teague got the defensive rebound and scored on the following possession. The game would remain within 3 points for the next 6+ minutes with the Pioneers tying the game multiple times, but RHIT would hit clutch shots late in the game to slowly pull away from Transy.
The Pioneers 49.1% in the loss, and made 9 three pointers.
Daniel Mullins had a season high 13 points and was 2-4 on three pointers.
Teague, Mullins,
Jaylan Green, and
Colby Napier all finished in double figures in the scoring column.
Transy moves to 11-4 on the season and 6-2 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. They'll host Mount St. Joseph next Wednesday as they look to get back in the win column.
