LEXINGTON, KY - The Pioneers faced off against HCAC Conference opponent Manchester to earn one point in a draw at Pat Deacon Stadium on Saturday.

Transylvania's offense would shine in the beginning minutes of the half with a corner kick in the first minute. The Pioneers totaled 5 shots, with three corners in the first half. Reece Heisel would find the back of the net, assisted by Dylan Barnes, in the 23rd minute. The second half continued to be controlled by the Pioneer offense, with five shots coming in the first seven minutes. Manchester would tie the game in the 69th minute. Transylvania continued to display grit and determination after the tying goal. In the 79th minute, Cole Varela would find Gus Dickman to put the Pioneers back in front. Just two minutes later, Manchester's offense scored again, making it 2-2. Transylvania's final scoring opportunity came with just a minute and thirteen seconds left in the game, with a corner kick.

The tie gives Transy their second tie in the conference, after their 1-0 win against Earlham last week.

Head Coach Ben Federici stated "We are not happy with the result today. A few mistakes in key moments cost us big time. Credit to Manchester for taking their chances and making things really tough for us on both ends of the field. Good news is we know exactly why we did not get the result today and we can fix that going forward. I believe our team is on the cusp of being great. We just have to continue to trust what we are doing.".

Transylvania will continue HCAC play on Wednesday, October 23rd, as they host Hanover at Pat Deacon Stadium at 7 pm.
