Transy and Hanover Tie in Wednesday Night Matchup

LEXINGTON, KY - The Pioneers faced off against much anticipated conference opponent Hanover on Wednesday night at Pat Deacon Stadium. The highly competitive match ended all square with neither team finding the back of the net. 

The match started with Transylvania having three shots in the first ten minutes with two being saved. In the 29th minute, the Pioneer attack had an opportunity with Mckay Wheatley taking a shot that was saved by Hanover goalie. The first corner kick of the game came in the 32nd minute by Hanover. Transy goalie, Jackson Holt made his first save of the game minutes after, on a header by Hanover. Transylvania had 6 shots in the first 45 minutes. 

The second half began with both teams attacking and exchanging offsides calls. Transylvania's offense, still pressing, was rewarded with a corner kick in the 57th minute. Pioneer, Jacob Renneker had a shot saved by Hanover goalie. In the 71st minute, a yellow card was assessed to Max Deckop. The next 10 minutes included a shot just high of the cross bar by Leo Bill, and a Transylvania corner. A yellow card was assessed to Nick Haskins in the 81st minute. Jackson Holt, kept the score even in the 86th minute with a huge save. The final intense moments of the match included a header by JT Roden that missed inches wide left, and a yellow card on Mckay Wheatley. 

Both teams received a point in conference play and remain in the top of the leaderboard. Transylvania is on the road in their next match against conference opponent, Bluffton University. The match is on Saturday October 26th, and will kick off at 5:30 pm.
