CINCINNATI, OH - The Pioneers traveled north to Cincinnati, Ohio on Tuesday evening to face off against conference opponent Mount St. Joseph's. With the post season right around the corner, Transy walked away with an impressive 3-0 victory over the lions.
Transylvania started the first 45 minutes with a shot by Dylan Barnes. Jackson Holt got his first save of the game with a shot by MSJ by Mounts Salinas-Barrera. In the 10th minute, Transy found the back of the net with a goal by Gus Dickman, who was assisted by Dylan Barnes. After a second save by Jackson Holt and two more Pioneer shots on goal from Dylan Barnes; Nathan White scored Transylvania's second goal of the match. The Pioneers offense continued to fire on all cylinders, with five more shots, two being saved by MSJ goalkeeper Aaron Smith. In the final minutes of the first half, JT Roden fed the ball to Nathan White to score his second goal of the game.
The second half began just as the first ended. Transylvania started with six shots, two on goal, in the first 15 minutes. After tactical substitutions from Transylvania, the offense continued to put shots on target throughout the entirety of the second half. The Pioneers had 13 total shots in both of the 45 minute halves, along with one corner.
Head Coach Ben Federici stated this post game, "Happy with a win on the road and even more happy that we were able to get so many guys in the game. We are very appreciative of all the fans who travel so well, it felt like a home environment. Shout out to our forwards, Gus Dickman and Nathan White. Those two have competed all year and it is fun to see them both hitting their stride as we enter the postseason.".
This match wrapped up the Pioneers regular season, closing with a regular season record of 8-4-4. Transylvania is awaiting their opponent and further details in the HCAC Conference Tournament.
