DEFIANCE, Ohio - Transylvania Baseball extended their winning streak to 8 games after earning the series sweep at Defiance with a 12-10 win on Sunday afternoon. The Pioneers defeated Defiance after a 9th inning comeback after trailing 7-9.
Gabe Dillard earned his first win of the season after coming in relief in the 7th inning. He threw 1.1 innings and struck out 2 batters.
Camryn Warfield earned his third save of the season after shutting down the Yellow Jackets in the 9th inning.
Defiance would score first, taking an early 3 run lead in the first inning.
Warren Wilson put Transy on the board in the second innings with a double to score

The Yellow Jackets took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the second, but that lead was short lived as
Trent Youngblood tied the game 4-4 with an RBI triple in the third inning.
Transylvania took their first lead of the game in the third as
Henry Mitcham scored Youngblood on a sacrifice fly, then would add to their lead 6-4 after
Austin Taylor came in to score on a wild pitch.
Defiance scored 4 runs over the next two innings, and would make it a 9-6 Yellow Jacket lead after tacking on another run in the seventh inning.
Austin Taylor cut the deficit to 2 runs with a single to left field to score Youngblood.
After holding Defiance scoreless in the 8th, Transylvania scored 5 runs in the 9th.

Camden McAtee, and with runners on first and second
Calvin Schubert tied the game with an RBI double to left field. The rally would be capped off with a dropped ball by the Yellow Jacket center fielder with bases loaded that scored 3 runners for the 12-9 lead.
In the bottom of the 9th, Defiance cut the lead to 12-10 with runners on second and third.
Warren Wilson turned one of the biggest double plays of the season after making a catch in right field and throwing the runner tagging from third out at the plate. The double play kept Defiance from scoring and took the winning run out of the next at bat. Wilson would get the last batter to pop up to first to win the game.
With the win, Transy moves to 26-6 on the season and 13-3 in the HCAC. Sitting at the top of the standings, Transylvania has a huge HCAC series next weekend with Franklin heading to Lexington.
Austin Taylor led the team in hits with a 3-5 performance.
Bryce Dreher finished 2-4 and led Transy with 2 RBI's.
Up next: The Pioneers will face in-state rival Centre College tomorrow at 7 PM. The Pioneers defeated the Colonels 4-3 earlier this season in Danville.
