This Saturday the Pioneers were back in action for the Wittenberg Invitational and the last chance to improve their marks heading into the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships. The team really took advantage of this opportunity, putting down lots of great marks, including personal bests, school records, and top 10 times in HCAC history. Just some of the many highlights from this meet include:

Olivia Sparks improved upon her own school record in the 400 meter, running a time of 58.28, which now ranks second all time in HCAC history. She also recorded a personal best over 60m, dropping a time of 7.99.Â

Nate Very ran a personal best of two seconds in the 800m, finishing in a time of 1:55.68, which puts him 7th all time in the HCAC. Very moved up steadily throughout the race, and passed multiple runners over the final 100m.Â

Kaycee Moore broke her own school record in the 800m by three seconds, improving it to a time of 2:20.83. This ranks her first in the conference. She led her group gun to tape in a breakthrough performance for her.

The women's 4x400m relay, consisting of Abbey Rowe, Peyton Tan, Kaycee Moore, and Olivia Sparks, shattered the school record and put them second-all time in HCAC history, combining for a time of 4:04.74. This takes off over six seconds off the previous school record.Â

Abbey Rowe continues to have a great senior season. She ran another personal best in the 400m, racing to a time of 59.14, which puts her second in Transylvania history and third in conference history.Â

Dalton Nunn recorded a personal best of 1:58.41 in the 800m. This was his first time under two minutes indoors in two years.Â

"This was an excellent way to cap off our regular season," said Head Coach Matt Andrews. "I am extremely proud of the energy we had today and am really excited to see us carry this momentum into next week's HCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships."
