LEXINGTON, KY - Transylvania's offense applied pressure in the second half of a competitive match up with Marietta on Saturday at the Transy Invitational, but their efforts would run out of time as Marietta came away with a 4-3 victory over the Pioneers.

Rowan Brown of Marietta scored the first goal of the afternoon at the 8:26 mark, but Transylvania would quickly respond with a goal from Nathan White a little over a minute later. Marietta would regain the lead less than five minutes later with a goal from Parker Bolin, but the Pioneers would respond yet again with a goal from Dylan Barnes just over two minutes later. Marietta would find the goal two more times in the first half, taking a 4-2 advantage into the second half.

Transylvania's offense applied pressure throughout the second half, with Josh Carr scoring at the 83:07 mark to cut the deficit to one for the Pioneers, but Marietta would hold on for a 4-3 victory.

Transylvania returns to action on day two of the Transy Invitational, taking on Mount Union at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, September 7th, at Pat Decaon Stadium.
