LEXINGTON, KY - Transylvania battled Mount Union in a highly competitive Sunday match up at Pat Deacon Stadium. Despite a thrilling first half of offense for both teams, the defensive efforts of the second half would be the story of the afternoon as both teams battled to a draw in the final moments. 

Gus Dickman landed the first goal of the afternoon at the 16:43 mark, assisted by McKay Wheatley. Just over ten minutes later, Mount Union would score twice in the span of less than one minute of game time, as Braedon Kennedy and Dom Kustura would both score to take a 2-1 lead over the Pioneers. Transylvania would respond, as Dickman landed a timely goal, courtesy of an assist from Gio Chavez, with just over five minutes remaining in the half. 

Entering the second half tied at 2-2, the defensive effort would show for both teams as the intensity increased. Transylvania would take eight shots in the second half to Mount Union's two. Mount Union saved five shot attempts at the goal from the Pioneers, while Rex Yantz continued a strong performance with four saves. 

With the tie, Transylvania moves to 2-1-1. They return to Pat Deacon Stadium on Thursday, September 11th to host Wilmington College at 7:00 p.m.
