Daniel Barr ’42 was an outstanding football player duringhis Transylvania career, earning an athletic scholarship andAll-Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team accolades.Following graduation and service in the U.S. Navy, Barr played inthe NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Detroit Lions beforereturning to his alma mater as a professor.
