Transylvania University

Everett Bass was an NCAA All-American basketball playerwho scored 1,875 career points, is the third all-time leadingscorer for the Pioneers. He received many honors at Transy, and hisrebounding records of 418 in 1969-70 and 1,308 overall stillstand.

Although he grew up near Transy, Bass said he never dreamed hewould become a Transy student and star athlete.

"I entered college as a very shy person, but I left here as aperson who was outspoken and outgoing," Bass said. "Transylvaniagave me a road map to professional success."

Bass first worked in public administration, then became assistantbasketball coach at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte,Purdue University, and the University of South Florida, where hewas a public administrationprofessor.
